Responsible change happens in phases.
The first step is doing some research. Grounding yourself in what you're talking about, really honing in on what you're trying to do, allows you to determine how you're going to make it happen.
Then you're definitely going to need a plan. Yes, be kind & realistic with yourself, but get it done, and challenge yourself not to be like flakey people.
Most importantly, celebrate your achievements - you're actual achievements. The times you make progress towards your goal. 'Cause there's nothing like a success to put a smile on your pillow at night.
See, change isn't really an option these days, it's the norm.
The world itself is changing. In fact, it's a very different place than it was just a couple decades ago.
For one you can do almost anything on the internet. In particular, you can work from home. That is, if you were already making more money, of course. But because going into work is such a hassle and a time suck, a bunch of people just quit their jobs altogether. The best part being that they're trying to figure out how to do something they actually want to do instead of doing what they were used to because it felt necessary.

Back in the day, you had to have more formal education to earn more money. But now, people are rethinking if they even want to go to college. Which, fun fact, is something I've watched become an issue for small private colleges, since I went to one.
What else? Weed is legal in most states. Gaming with a digital blindfold took this past Christmas by storm.
Gravity itself is being questioned.
